A portable f/2 narrowband astrophotography machine.
If you are looking for a game-changer for years now, then you may check out the following astrophotography setup.
The 10.000$ Baby is here
A game-changer is something which negates the rules. Up to now, amazing narrowband photos were slow, fat and heavy. Unfortunately, serious astrophotography was almost always associated with a slipped disc.
The perfect counterweight
A Tokina 300 mm f/6.3 lens acting as a guiding scope. A Starlight XPress Lodestar guiding camera is mounted on it.
A smart guiding scope
The tiny Tokina 300 mm f/6.3 Maksutov lens is the perfect guy for the job. It is small, light, and provides a good focal length at an acceptable field-stop.
The front side
This is where all the starlight comes in to change the rules.
Filter Drawer
A filter drawer is placed between the camera and the lens. The Baader 2mm thick L,R,G,B,Ha,SII,OIII filter work good on it at f/2. Thicker filters should be avoided.
No Glass!
We removed the front glass window of the ATIK camera and we replaced it with a Baader Turbo-Film® foil. CAUTION: This action leads to the loss of the camera guarantee! You do this at your own risk!
A Canon-ready ATIK490 camera
An adapter for Canon lenses is mounted on the ATIK490Xm.
The powerful Sony ICX814 sensor with Anti Blooming
The sticked Baader Turbo-Film® is almost invisible if you look vertically through the camera window.
The point where dreams come true.
The back side of the Zeiss lens is Canon-ready.
Big was beautiful
As the time goes by, things and rules change. Decades ago, astrophotography experts had prophesied fast & portable setups doing serious work for the 21st century. Obviously, that future is now.
The Photon Hunter
Star-Go!
The Heart and Soul of the Star-Go is its central unit. This thing simply works. No comments.
Star-Go Controller
One of the three possibilities to move the Avalon worms :-) is to use the hand controller. But you may use your pad or laptop via bluetooth or cable instead.
Avalon Zero Mount
Is this thing a GM300? :-) No, it is the Avalon Zero mount! Portable excellence is again made in Italy. GRAZIE ITALIA!
The Rock
The Gitzo GT5532s tripod is the most rigid carbon tripod we have experienced so far. It can carry 40Kg of equipment.
f/2. No comments.
Apo Sonnar 135mm (f/2). ZE is the Canon version. By the way, a micrometer screw is crucial for focussing this astrophotography machine.
